Frequently Asked Questions

Answers to our most commonly asked questions...
  • How do you cut the maze out of the corn?
  • We have a custom design made each year that is mapped out using computers and a Satellite GPS system that is accurate to within an inch. The cutting out of the maze only takes about five hours with a tractor that is equipped with the GPS on-board computers. One interesting fact is we do this during the night when it’s cool, so we don’t need to see where we are going since we are using the computer to guide us.

  • How long does it take to finish the maze?
  • It takes up to one hour when we first open the maze to find all six punch stations. However, if you’re really good it can be completed in under an hour.

  • What kind of corn do you plant?
  • We plant what farmers call Cow Corn, or Silage Corn. This type of corn has a strong stalk and broad leaves. The hybrid type of corn we plant grows very well in NC’s heat of the summer with little rain, and is also resistant to worms and can grow to over 13 feet tall. If a bug or worm eats the corn they get very sick and can’t reproduce.

  • Can we bring our dog?
  • Yes, we allow dogs on a leash in our corn maze.
