In 2019, we started using a GPS planter to create the corn maze. The planter is programmed with the maze design, omitting a seed when it reaches a path. This allows us to create more intricate designs and a better interactive experience for maze visitors with surprise twists and turns. Plus the design grows with the corn, allowing our team to learn the maze as the corn grows. You’ll be asking, how’d they do that? Now you know.
In years past, a custom design was mapped using computers and a Satellite GPS system –accurate within an inch. The maze cutting only took about 3 hours with an old-school tractor equipped with GPS on-board computers.

To participate in any activities a wristband must be shown to staff. If you want to walk around the farm you don’t have to purchase a ticket, however you will not be allowed to ride the train, tram or enter the corn maze or sunflower mazes. Ages 3 and under and 65+ are FREE and will receive a wristband to participate any any activities we offer during the Maize Adventure. To enter the pumpkin patch you do not need a ticket, pumpkins are priced $5 if unmarked.

Yes, we allow friendly dogs on a leash. You’ll find a doggie water bar at the Snack Shack. Please pick up after your dog while you are on property. There are many children running around, and it’s just plain common sense and courtesy. We provide doggy poop stations with bags and gloves outside the maze. Please take supplies with you.

We plant what farmers call Cow Corn, or Silage Corn, known for its strong stalk and broad leaves. This hybrid corn grows very well in NC’s summer heat, needing little rain. It’s also resistant to worms and can grow to more than 9 feet tall. (If a bug or worm eats the corn, they get very sick and can’t reproduce.)
